What’s the difference?

Psychotherapy vs Coaching

Psychotherapy is focused on improving mental health by exploring the past and helps you improve the present through insight, awareness, and healing of emotional pain, trauma, suffering, and symptoms. Psychotherapy tends to look more deeply, looking at past trauma, and supports a person to address the underlying causes of their difficulties.

Coaching differs from Psychotherapy in that it focuses on the present. A Personal Development Coach supports and oversees strategies that help people achieve goals. A coach will help you uncover limiting beliefs and help you to understand your thinking patterns, supporting you in addressing those issues and helping you create healthier patterns. This is to support you to bridge where you are now to where you want to be in your life. Coaching is a professional relationship that enables a client to move forward with greater clarity, focus, momentum, and success.

*Coaching clients do not receive a diagnosis, treatment planning, or insurance reimbursement.

Discovery Session

Coaching

In 1:1 online coaching sessions with me, we will work together to create awareness around these limiting stories and patterns. You will learn to identify what is in support of your growth and what needs to change. You will be supported to create new habits and routines in your life that are in support of your development. You will begin to deepen a connection to your body, and your soul self through embodiment practices, where you will begin to feel ease and a sense of fullness and vitality. If this is a journey you wish to embark on with me, if you are curious about what needs attention and what patterns need space to heal and change then now is the time to begin.

My Therapeutic Approach

Psychotherapy

In my 1:1 work as a psychotherapist, I work in a process-orientated way, creating a space to explore how our past belief patterns and experiences can interrupt us in the here-and-now moments of our lives. Creating awareness in the body, noticing and exploring thoughts, feelings, sensations, beliefs, images, and memories, can help support us to understand the roots of complex issues, and how these situations and trauma can interrupt us and our life potential. I am particularly interested in intergenerational trauma and the effect this also has on our lives, our history, and our present-day society.

My aim is to provide a compassionate space where difficult and sometimes painful experiences and emotions can be heard, felt, and healed. A space for you to feel welcomed and understood. To build a therapeutic space free from limiting beliefs, and perceptions, opening new ways of relating to yourself, others, and the world around you.

Deepening the Senses

Workshops

In Deepening the Senses, we deepen our connection to the inner world and soul self. So often in our lives, due to difficult early childhood experiences, past limiting belief patterns and intergenerational trauma, we can experience a disconnection from our authentic, embodied soul selves.

These workshops will share knowledge, skills and resources with you in an accessible and creative way, from the field of psychology and psychotherapy, as well as philosophy, literature and art, to help expand your understanding of your inner world and how to resource yourself to begin to make changes that are in support of your growth and personal development.
