You are invited to join me for a 4-hour LIVE online workshop experience - Deepening the Senses – Meeting the Gaelic Otherworld - Embarking on the Mist Filled Path on Sunday 19th October 2025 at 9 am (PST) and 5 pm (IST).

This workshop is open to Ireland, USA, and Internationally. If you are unable to make it live,

The Gaelic Otherworld — was a realm beyond linear time, woven into the fabric of everyday life for our Irish ancestors. It was a parallel world that was inhabited by the Aos Sí, otherwise known as the faeries. This was a realm that shaped their daily lives and psyche.  In this series, we explore these ancestral tales and mythic roots, immersing ourselves in realm  of the sidhe, Tír na nÓg, (land of eternal youth,) faerie encounters, sacred wells, rituals, charms, prayers and landscape— This is not just as folklore, but as symbolic gateways into our own depths, our own hidden inner world.

In this course, we explore Carl Jung’s concept of individuation — the unfolding path toward wholeness, authenticity, and the deeper Self. Early on this path, we meet the shadow — the hidden, unconscious parts of ourselves cast out, exiled, or forgotten.

Together, we’ll explore how the shadow is shaped in childhood, how it carries the imprint of family and ancestral story, and how turning toward it with compassion and curiosity becomes a gateway to greater depth, freedom, and inner truth.

We’ll also step into the liminal world of the Gaelic Otherworld,  a living symbolic landscape. Here, the Imram, or voyage to unknown shores, mirrors the soul’s journey through the unconscious — filled with numinous encounters that stir awe, stepping out of ordinary time, beckoning us into sacred time.

In Jungian terms, these mythic moments open the doorway to ‘kairos’ — the timeless realm of transformation. This course is an invitation to enter that rhythm: to slow down, to listen inward, and to cross the thresholds that lead toward healing and integration. Through story, archetype, symbol, and metaphor,  we follow the contours of the soul’s journey — the winding, nonlinear path of individuation. This is not about fixing the self, but remembering it — reclaiming what was lost, honoring what was hidden, and walking forward in deeper alignment with who you truly are and the story of your ancestors.

This series is close to my own heart and has been in development for a many years when I commenced my Deepening the Senses work in 2016. I grew up in the South Connemara Gaeltacht, (Irish speaking region) on the west coast of Ireland, and as a native Irish language speaker, I have grown up with these stories, symbols, images and rituals.  I am very excited to share it now with you, interwoven with Jungian Depth psychology and my clincial psychotherapy experience as honed for over 15 years.

Join Eileen Ní Shuilleabháin, October 19th 2025, on this mythic, mysterious, mist-filled path. Together, we will explore, through the work of Psychotherapy, Depth Psychology, Irish Mythology and Folklore, how we can begin to bridge connections to our own inner world and soul self.

What is included?

  • We will begin by Crossing the Threshold—the Opening Ritual that guides all of my Deepening the Senses Programs, Courses, and Workshops. In this space, we create a container for our work together and set our individual and collective intentions.

  • We begin by introducing the themes of the course in a 25-minute immersive video presentation to explore ideas, images, and reflections from the world of Depth psychology, philosophy, literature, Irish folklore, and poetry. We will explore the emotions that are stirring within the theme and how this learning can be a rich source of knowledge to support us in developing a relationship with our inner world and soul self.

After the seminar, there will be a time for reflection, a space for you to note your experience through awareness, journal invitations, and personal reflection.

  • In this section, we will deepen into story and mythology with a visual meditation of sweeping footage of the Irish landscape. You will hear stories from mythology or Irish folklore to deepen into myth, ancient customs and practices of the ancient Gaelic world, drawing on somatic practices throughout to support you in your body, to enhance this visual experience. For our ancestors, the world of storytelling, poetry, songs, and folktales shared around the hearth at night provided an escape from a harsh existence—an escape that brought them into the unseen world of imagination, psyche, and spirit. We will become curious about what images are stirring our own imagination from these ancient stories and images, and deepen our relationship to our soul selves.

  • This second seminar deepens into the theme and is a visual meditation incorporating poetry music, art, literature, with sweeping images of the visceral beauty of the Irish landscape. This seminar continues the exploration through the lens of Depth Psychology, support you on the path of discovery and self-development.

  • Here, we sit at the symbolic hearth to create a pause and space for reflection. I share insights with you on the key themes, from my work with clients and those who attended live Gatherings over the years. This is designed to support you in your own integration of the learning thus far.

  • This is the final video module, where we capture the essence of the course's learning, sharing rich reflections, images, and lessons from the collective experience. We explore how you will apply this learning to your daily life.

  • We will cross back over the threshold again, returning to our initial starting place of ritual, the container of our work together, where we will close this work again in ritual. From here, we return to our everyday lives, inspired and curious about what new perspectives, new understandings, and awareness we can bring with us, from the Deepening the Senses experience.

This course is for you if…

  • …you feel a quiet longing for something deeper — a sense that your life holds more meaning than what meets the eye.

  • …you’ve experienced dreams, synchronicities, or mysterious moments that feel sacred, and you want to understand their healing power.

  • …you carry more than just your own story — ancestral patterns, inherited wounds — and you’re ready to explore and release them with care.

  • …you are drawn to Irish myth, folklore, and the rich symbolic world of the Otherworld — not just as old stories, but as living mirrors of the psyche but as a rich source of wisdom and a potential living reflection of your inner landscape.

  • …you have met your shadow — or are beginning to — and are curious about the parts of yourself you’ve buried, denied, or disowned. You sense that healing isn’t about perfection, but about remembering, integrating, and allowing all parts of yourself to have a place at the fire.

  • …you’re ready to step out of ordinary time and into sacred time — to honour the liminal thresholds of your life as initiatory, and to cultivate a deeper relationship with the unconscious, the symbolic, and the sacred rhythm of becoming who you truly are.

You will learn how to…

…how the Jungian path of individuation offers a sacred framework for becoming your true self — not by fixing or perfecting who you are, but by reclaiming and integrating the lost, silenced, or forgotten parts of your psyche.

…how your inner world holds wisdom essential to living a more authentic life — and how listening to dreams, symbols, and emotions can guide you through inner transformation.

…about the numinous — those mysterious, sacred moments that stir awe and trembling — and how encounters with the Otherworld or unconscious can initiate profound healing.

…how Irish myth and the realm of the Aos Sí mirror the symbolic language of the soul. You’ll be guided through tales and archetypes that illuminate themes like longing, grief, death, rebirth, and renewal.

…to recognise the impact of intergenerational trauma and unconscious patterning — and how to begin unweaving what no longer belongs to you, with compassion and reverence.

…how to work with metaphor, shadow, and liminal thresholds as part of the individuation journey — cultivating a deeper relationship with the unconscious and stepping more fully into sacred time and soul-rooted living.

  • Depth Psychology and Psychotherapy theories and practices, somatic psychotherapy, Irish mythology, folklore, language, literature and Irish Heritage.

About

Eileen Ní Shuilleabháin

BSocSc, MA Social Work, MA Psychotherapy, Dip Supervision, Dip Jungian Psychology, Certified Coach (WCI)

I am a Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapist, Supervisor, and Personal Development Coach with over 20 years of experience. I work internationally and am dual-located in the US and Ireland (in Northern Nevada and on the West Coast of Ireland, in Connemara). I work from a Jungian and depth-oriented perspective, integrating Jungian Psychology, Psychodynamic and somatic therapies.

I grew up in Connemara, a wild and rugged landscape on the Atlantic coast of Ireland. Oscar Wilde famously said of the region, “Connemara is a savage beauty”. I grew up in a small, rural Gaeilge (Irish) speaking community where Gaeilge is my first language, and is still spoken today in people's homes. This area was a major centre for the work of the Irish Folklore Commission, recording endangered folklore, mythology, sean-nós (old-style) songs, and oral literature. I have been greatly influenced by the wild physical landscape and immersed in those ancient songs, stories, customs, myths, legends, and music since childhood.

My work interweaves the Gaelic (Irish) World and Otherworld with Jungian Depth Psychology. The Gaelic world, with its symbols, language, myth, folklore, literature and heritage, becomes a doorway through which you can enter and explore your own inner landscape. I desire to share with you a felt sense of that ancient culture and spirit and, as a Psychotherapist, support how that connection can nourish and guide you on your personal development journey.
